My day off and I was sleeping in past 7:30. I had things to do after 9 and was enjoying a leisurely morning coffee. This was interrupted by a knock at the door - I had 15 minutes to get any vehicles out that I need for travel today. I wasn't dressed yet! This put me in boot camp mode with stirred up memories of drill instructors 'motivating' me ..."Move it! Five minutes to be dressed and ready to go! Go Go GO!"
After dealing with that, I took time to look at the work. They had to dig deeper than I thought to replace the water pipes leading to our house. This street adventure goes deep!

This morning we were advised to move our vehicles if we needed to use them today. There is going to be a big dig in front of our driveway.
They have not finished and already the pile is several times larger than the snowiest snowplow pile.
Good thing I don't have anything pressing to attend to outside my house today! Not a good day to get groceries. They can wait.
I moved my vehicle just in case.
Remember mom telling you, "Don't drink water from the hose!" ?
Our new temporary water supply comes to us through a series of above ground pipes and hoses. I'm not sure how long this will last - weeks.
The originating source is the nearby fire hydrant!
We will see how good our sink water purifier works. It is hard to get my mom's voice out of my head. I may be buying water for a bit.
